If you have a background of academic success, are positive, intelligent and have an enquiring mind; if you are a good communicator and a team player (we know it's clichéd but we mean it!) we would like to hear from you.
You can be sure of one thing - with Mann Made no two days will be the same!
We are seeking to recruit for the following position:
- Tax Manager
The main purpose of the job is to ensure all of our tax compliance is dealt with on a timely basis, ensuring filing deadlines are met.
The daily duties will include the preparation and filing of all tax computations for corporate, personal and trust clients; dealing with routine tax and VAT correspondence, HMRC enquiries, VAT registrations and de-registrations, reviewing the quarterly VAT returns and EC Sales and ensuring that all tax and VAT deadlines are met.
In the longer term the role could entail providing support to our tax trainee, tax director, and other staff members with regards to tax and VAT issues. This would involve a degree of research and further study may need to be considered, so that the role could develop to include tax & VAT consultancy work.
The individual will need to be an experienced self-starter as we are looking for someone who will initially organise and bring up to date the tax and VAT compliance work. The candidate must be strong in either direct or indirect taxation and will ideally be ATT qualified or studying for the CIOT exams as the individual will need to be able to undertake research and find solutions without being micro-managed.
Preference will be given to ambitious candidates who are willing to provide support to our tax trainee, as well as being willing to broaden their knowledge base by assisting our tax director, if required.
- Internal bookkeeper and administrator
As we are a growing Company we are now looking for a bookkeeper to take over the day to day book-keeping and administrative requirements of the Group.
The main duties will include routine bookkeeping, issuing sales invoices, producing regular debtors lists and taking over some of the credit control function, dealing with suppliers, arranging for bank transfers, ensuring disbursements are rebilled, reconciliations of client funds bank accounts, assisting with fee queries from staff and clients, filing of the quarterly VAT Returns and EC Sales lists, and generally dealing with all of the day to day internal bookkeeping requirements for Mann Made itself.
There is also the possibility that this role could develop in the future to cover human resources and all that this entails, which may involve further study.
The ideal candidate will have sufficient experience in bookkeeping to be able to take over the majority of the day to day duties from the start. Training on our procedures and systems will be provided but the ideal candidate needs to be able to work on their own initiative, be competent and professional in dealing with suppliers, banks and clients, where required, and have good numeracy and literacy skills.
Payroll administrator
The main purpose of this role is to ensure our payroll solutions are compliant and that all payments are made on a timely basis and are properly accounted for. This area is a growing part of the Mann Made Group's business and it would be a very satisfying role for someone who has a mature attitude, good client facing skills, plenty of initiative and who does not need to be micro-managed.
Daily duties will entail processing application forms for new employees including understanding due dilligence and payroll requirements; processing timesheets; issuing sales invoices; dealing with agencies, employees or potential candidates; ensuring payment deadlines are met; maintaining book-keeping records; maintenance of employee record files, databases and online filing systems; all routine payroll compliance work such as dealing with employees joining, leaving, obtaining tax certificates/ notices of coding as well as establishing and undertaking end of year employer's duties. It will also be the individual's responsibility to automate and improve the processes to maximise efficiency.
In the longer term the role may involve undertaking research for new jurisdictions, providing support to our in-house Tax expert; also to provide training and support when requested.
The individual will need to have an excellent standard of written and spoken English as well as good understanding of either a UK, IOM or Irish payroll. They will be a competent self-starter as we are looking for someone who will initially organise and automate the payroll and payments functions with minimum supervision. The candidate must also be numerate, have excellent attention to detail and be confident in speaking to tax authorities over payroll matters. They will also be able to undertake research and find solutions to problems without being micro-managed.
Preference will be given to confident candidates who have experience of working in a payroll environment although in all cases on the job training will be given.
